Chapter 4 Meeting

Roll call of officers:   Chapter Chair-John Terpko-present

                                    Vice Chair-Natalie Keys-present

                                    Chapter Secretary-(vacant) Gail Terpko-(acting)

                                    Treasurer-Tim O’Donnell-excused

                                    Retired Affairs Officer-Linda Andrews-present

 

Minutes of last meeting were approved.  Motion by Linda Andrews; second by Kevin Szallar.  Motion passed unanimously.

 

Nominations accepted for position of Chapter Secretary.   One nomination accepted.  Motion made by Linda Andrews; second by Joann Loughrey.  No dissenting votes.  Gail Terpko installed as Chapter Secretary.

 

Officers Reports:

Institute for Change survey on table.  Members requested to fill out survey and return.

 

Reminder that this shop steward elections must be held this month.  Discussion on super-seniority and reminder to notify business agents for completion of “green sheet”.

 

COPE-Second largest chapter, yet, second lowest in percentage of contributors.

 

Mobilization-telephone trees-get busy!!

 

Solicitation to fill vacant positions on committees.  Of particular importance is the Civil and Human Rights committee.

Two thank you letters to chapter.  One from Children’s Bureau in Westmoreland County (Teamsters Local 206) for donation.  One from last year’s March for Parks.

 

Kim Steadman spoke at this time about the March for Parks.  Motion #2 (March for Parks).

 

Retired Affairs Officer-Andrews

 

            Retiring members eligible for dental and eye care through PARSE.  Reminder that the chapter had passed a motion to pay the $16 PARSE dues.

 

            Washington-Greene Labor Council to take on the defunct Fayette Labor Council.

 

            National March in DC on January 27th
