Chapter meeting-Cedar Brook-Belle Vernon

Pledge of Allegiance opened meeting at 6:15 and dinner commenced.

Roll call of officers:       John Terpko-Chairperson-present

                                       Linda Andrews-Retired Affairs-absent-excused

Officers’ reports were given.

 

Business agents’ reports were distributed or discussed.  There is not movement in Washington County local unit workers.  Negotiations continue and a big stumbling block is health care; the same as it is for Westmoreland County local unit workers.

 

Shop reports given.  Mr. Dahlheimer spoke of fears of closing state mental hospitals again.

 

Motions were made & enclosed with minutes submitted to Harrisburg.

 

  1. to pay for up to 10 tickets for Washington Labor Council Banquet at $35 a person and to purchase ½ page ad at a cost of $125.  Passed 15-0

 

  1. to pay for up to 15 tickets for Westmoreland Labor Council Banquet at $40 a   person and purchase full page ad at a cost of $150.  Passed 14-0

 

  1. To approve no more than $1000 for purchases on Lobby Day from SEIU store for members and attendees (relatives).  Passed 13-0
